“about.me” is All About You!

Okay so I lifted my title right from a catch phrase on the about.me website. But I couldn’t have said it any better. If you’re like most people online, you might tweet, you could be using LinkedIn, you’ve got a blog, you’ve got a Facebook page, maybe you have an online portfolio, etc. Wouldn’t it be nice to have all that info on one page that’s “about me”, a page you can send people to so they can pick and chose which aspect of that online YOU they’re most interested in?

Sure, you can set up a hosted web page with all that info and maybe more, but why bother when about.me has taken that notion and streamlined the process. It’s all free, and there are apps for iOS and Android devices. Since it’s a relatively new service you might actually be able to obtain a useable url, using your real name, not some strange configuration like joe62354 (sorry joe62354). In my case I got a useable url, not some strange arrangement of letters and numbers that kind of represents my name several times removed from what I would really like.

Check out my about.me page, then get your own. Mine took about a half hour to set up. Easy to maintain, easy to use.
