Discover the Cloud – DROPBOX UPDATE

Almost a year ago I gave you an introduction to Dropbox. Here’s a recap.

“Cloud computing has been with us for some time now and I’m surprised at how many people haven’t taken advantage of the many free options available. One of my favorites is DROPBOX. A 2 GB account is free, and if you use my link for DROPBOX you’ll get an extra 250 MB of cloud storage. It works with many mobile apps as well as your computer applications, helping keep your computer and mobile devices in sync. It works on Mac or PC. Check out the tour for details on how to make the most of DROPBOX.

(Full disclosure: I get an extra 250 MB free as well, but hey, once you set up your account you can earn extra free storage referring your friends too.)

UPDATE: First of all, here’s some great news. Now you get 500MB, not 250MB. And here’s an additional way to get even more storage space. It’s as simple as uploading a picture. After you sign up for your free account and install the latest version of DROPBOX, plug in your digital camera and you’ll get a prompt to upload your camera’s pictures to the “Camera Uploads” folder in your Dropbox. As soon as you do, you’ll get 500MB of additional space added to your account, even if you upload just one picture, regardless of size. That was easy! After that, you need to upload 500MB of pictures for every 500MB worth of free space, up to a maximum of 3GB. Have fun!
